Bobcats Goaltender Set to Join Owls this Fall

DIX HILLS, NY -- Tyler Shugrue, a goaltender for the New York Bobcats, has committed to Westfield State University for the Fall of 2018. The '98 just finished his first and only season in the EHL, and now becomes the 6th player in league history to commit to join the Owls' program.

The Westfield State Owls compete out of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), which features eight different Division III programs. In total since the EHL was formed back in 2013, the teams in the MASCAC have helped 75 different players turn their collegiate hockey dreams into a reality. Shugrue is the latest player to add his name to this list, and he'll look to keep developing his game starting the very first day he arrives on campus. With one final look back at the 2017-18 season, Shugrue can be very proud of the 19 games in which he st0pped at least 30 shots that were sent his way.
