RoughRiders Forward Set to Join Teammate this Fall

NORWALK, CT -- Gustaf Arfelt, a forward for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Southern New Hampshire University for the Fall of 2018. The '97 native of Djursholm, Sweden just finished his first and only season in the EHL, tallying 30 points in 49 total games.

"We have been watching Gustaf’s progress since 2014 when he was a J18 at SDE HF in Sweden," said RoughRiders associate head coach Steven Brown. “After three seasons here in the USA and hard work, Gustaf achieved the goal he set to play in the NCAA next season!”

Arfelt will now follow in his brother's (Oscar Arfelt) footsteps, who played for the RoughRiders during in 2014-15 season. Oscar is currently playing hockey at Manhattanville College. As for Gustaf, he sets out for a program that has supported the EHL very strongly since the league was formed back in 2013. In total over the past 5+ years, the Penmen have now committed 21 total EHL players, and that includes six per year in each of the last two seasons (2017-18 and 2016-17). Gustaf will join his teammate Alex Ring, who made his commitment to SNHU back in April.
