BOSTON, MA -- A new week brings with it a new featured pipeline, that has brought in over 75 different players since the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) was formed back in 2013. The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) is regarded as one of the toughest in all of Division III hockey, and this Fall, they will be adding two more programs to the mix. Starting in October, the NEHC will feature the following ten NCAA hockey programs.

  • Babson College
  • Castleton University
  • Hobart College
  • Johnson & Wales University
  • University of Massachusetts Boston
  • New England College
  • Norwich University
  • Skidmore College
  • Suffolk University
  • University of Southern Maine

Below you'll find a list of all the EHL players who will be kicking off their collegiate hockey careers this Fall, along with some insight from some of the coaches in the NEHC. The history of the conference is strong, as it includes a number of National Championships, along with an even greater number of Frozen Four appearances. There have been many EHL alumni who've made huge impacts in the NEHC, but one that definitely stands out is Todd Jackson.

The '95 forward was one of the top scorers in the EHL during his time with the Connecticut RoughRiders, and that touch carried over when he arrived at Norwich University. In his freshmen season, Jackson played a key role in the team's offense, and tallied in the game-winning goal in the 2017 National Championship game. Jackson is just one example of an EHL alum, making an immediate impact at the next level. Scroll down to see the names to keep an eye on, when they begin their collegiate hockey careers this Fall.

"I think of former EHL Defenseman of the Year [Gabe Chuckran] in his day within league and now he will be Senior captain for us. He will be one of the best d-man in Division III hockey; he's an excellent student, terrific leader, and just an all around incredible young man that will absolutely thrive in whatever he choosers to do in life after hockey. The EHL does a great job at developing their players every year and preparing them for college on and off the ice."

Peter Belisle
Head Coach
UMass Boston

"The EHL does an excellent job in the development of their players. The coaches are accessible and work hard to place their guys at the right schools. The EHL players who have joined our team have contributed a lot to our University both on and off the ice.”

Bill Selingo
Head Coach
Castleton University

“I find the EHL to be a professionally run league with a major emphasis on player development and advancement."

Ed Harding
Head Coach
University of Southern Maine

“We are constantly recruiting players, speaking with coaches and watching games/evaluating players and good players that come from everywhere. We recruit in the EHL because it has been one of our successful sources in our recruiting efforts. Whether it is a late bloomer, a player who was hoping for Division I, someone from outside of New England seeking greater exposure, or simply a player who needed more developmental time, the EHL has provided us multiple players over the last 5 years who have been very successful at Babson.”

Jamie Rice
Head Coach
Babson College

“The coaches and league administrators of the EHL make the recruiting process easier for all college coaches. All the coaches are very accessible and their showcases are first class.”

Chris Glionna
Head Coach
Suffolk University
