Abouelhana, Lazouski, and Carpenter Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) is rounding into form, ahead of the first league showcase of the season. This past week featured all 19 teams in action, as the schedule included 21 total games. Through a number of great matchups across the league, the EHL saw many top performances, and plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Samir Abouelhana (Philadelphia Revolution), Tim Lazouski (New Jersey 87s), and Tim Carpenter (Philadelphia Jr. Flyers) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

The action continues in the #Eshow tomorrow afternoon at 2:00pm, as the week ahead features 5 more games leading up to the first showcase of the season. As the #EHLShowcaseSeries returns this weekend, the event in Walpole, MA will feature all 19 EHL teams with 18 total games combined between Sunday, September 30th and Monday, October 1st. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released following the end of the showcase. Also, be sure to check back in later this week as we breakdown all of this weekend's showcase matchups.

FORWARD - Samir Abouelhana (Philadelphia Revolution)

Abouelhana and the Revolution won all three of their games this past week, stretching their winning streak up to 5 games to start the year. For Philadelphia, this year is following a similar pattern to that of the past 2 seasons, as the Revolution are off to a hot start yet again. In total, the Revolution are now 17-0-1 in the month of September, dating back to the 2016-17 season.

As for the '98, Abouelhana has at least a point in all 5 games this year, and that includes 8 that he collected this past weekend. The native of St. Louis, MO had a goal and 4 assists in the two-game sweep of the North Carolina Golden Bears, and then capped things off with a hat-trick against the New York Applecore earlier this afternoon. The schedule ahead gets much tougher for the Revolution, as they take on the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Thursday and then the New Hampshire Avalanche and New England Wolves at the first showcase of the season.

DEFENSEMAN - Tim Lazouski (New Jersey 87s)

Lazouski and the 87s posted a record of 2-1-0 this past week, earning their first EHL win in franchise history by the score of 5-0 over Team Maryland. New Jersey then finished off the week by splitting their two-game set with the Boston Jr. Rangers. As for the 2000-born defenseman from Belarus, Lazouski tallied a pair of goals and a pair of assists over the course of the 3 games. The alum of the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP), will look to keep things rolling this weekend as the 87s take on the Walpole Express and the Connecticut Chiefs at the showcase.

GOALTENDER - Tim Carpenter (Philadelphia Jr. Flyers)

As for the 3rd and final EHL Top Performer of the Week, Carpenter played a big role in the Jr. Flyers' two-game sweep of Team Maryland. The '98 was between the pipes for Philadelphia's season opener, as he stopped all 40 shots he faced in a 5-0 victory. Carpenter and the Jr. Flyers are now set to take on the New York Applecore on Saturday afternoon, and then the New England Wolves and the Vermont Lumberjacks at Rodman Arena.

HONORABLE MENTION - Mikey Giampapa (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

The EHL would like to recognize Mike Giampapa of the Little Flyers with an Honorable Mention, as the 2000-born forward extended his point streak up to 6 games to start the season. Giampapa netted a pair of goals to go along with a pair of assists, in a two-game sweep of the New York Applecore.
