Also, if you can't make it to the rink to catch the action, you can watch every game live on HockeyTV.

DAY #1 GAME RECAPS - 9/30/18

WIZARDS 3 - APPLECORE 1

In the first game of the EHL Showcase, the Wizards jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the end of 25 minutes. Andrew Harley's tally came early on in the first half, and held up as the only goal of the game for much of the contest. However, Thomas O'Brien was able to tie the score just over 6 minutes into the 2nd half.

Following O'Brien's goal,  Harris Colvin and Noah Furman found the back of the net for the Wizards. Korbinian Lutz stood tall from there, propelling the Wizards to a 3-1 victory, their 4th straight win since dropping their season opener to the Wolves.

SEAHAWKS 1 - RANGERS 0

The second game of the showcase featured a classic goaltending battle between Ben Parker of the Rangers and DJ Paxson of the Seahawks. Ultimately, 1 goal was all the difference in this one, as Cam St. Amand found the back of the net for the Seahawks late in the 2nd half. Cade Hanley had the assist on the Amand tally, his 3rd helper of the year.

Parker finished the game with 29 saves for the Rangers, but Paxson was just a little better, as he turned away all 34 shots that were sent his way. For the '98, the shutout was his first of the season, and his 2nd of his EHL career.

87S 5 - EXPRESS 4 (SO)

Arguably the best game of the day, the 87s picked up their 3rd victory of the season, and this time it took a shootout to decide a winner.

Trevor Cear and Tim Lazouski had New Jersey up by the score of 2-1 after 25 minutes, and that lead was increased by a pair of goals from Jack Lane to start the 2nd half. The 4-1 lead didn't last long however, as Pat Lavin, Egor Borshchev, and Kevin Mainello all scored on the power-play to even the score for the Express and force overtime.

Neither team could find the back of the net in overtime as well as the first 2 rounds of the shootout, but ultimately it was Andrew Maynard who grabbed the extra point for the 87s.

REVOLUTION 4 - AVALANCHE 3

The EHL Game of the Week featured a rematch of the 2018 EHL Championship Game between the Revolution and the Avalanche. Hunter Canestra and Jake Houk had goals for Philadelphia in the first half, as they owned a 2-1 advantage heading into the break.

The game then took a similar pattern to the Express-87s game, as Houk's 2nd of game along with a tally from Mike Mania, had the Revolution up by the score of 4-1 early on in the 2nd half. Then the comeback effort began for the Avalanche. Matt Ernster and Jake Adkins got New Hampshire to within a goal, but Logan Kramsky shut the door after that for Philadelphia. The '98 anchored his team to the 4-3 victory, as he racked up 33 saves to his name.

KNIGHTS 3 - ROUGHRIDERS 2 (SO)

The next game of the showcase brought with it another shootout, as the Knights snuck by the RoughRiders by the final score of 3-2. Jack Morton had the only goal of the opening frame, but that lead for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was washed away by a pair of goals from Tommy Schwartz (Connecticut) in the 2nd half. Cody Rumsey then evened the scored once again, forcing overtime with just 1:45 to go in regulation.

In overtime, the RoughRiders killed off a big power-play chance for the Knights, but that was quickly forgotten when Hunter Bersani gave the Knights the victory in the 3rd round of the shootout.

LITTLE FLYERS 4 - LUMBERJACKS 1

The Little Flyers jumped on the board just 39 seconds into this one, as Mikey Giampapa scored his 11th of the season. The lead was then squashed when Glynn Robitaille tied the score exactly 23 minutes later. That's where these two teams remained, tied up 1-1, heading into the break.

The 2nd half then belonged solely to the Little Flyers, as Mark Strazisar, Kevin Brown, and Kyle Scott all scored goals for Philadelphia. With the 4-1 victory, the Little Flyers stretched their winning streak up to 8 games to the start the season, and they will look to make it a perfect 9-0-0 when they take on the Warriors tomorrow morning.

JR. FLYERS 2 - WOLVES 1

The Jr. Flyers and Wolves matchup brought with it another goalie battle, as Kristofer Muhr (Wolves) and Albin Mulic (Jr. Flyers) went back and forth in this one. Dominiks Marcinkevics got the Wolves on the board first, while his team was short-handed in the opening frame. The 1-0 lead held up for a while, but in the final 15 minutes of action, Michael Houlihan and Joe Platt flipped the score in their favor, and the Jr. Flyers earned their 4th straight win to start the season.

GOLDEN BEARS 7 - REBELS 1

The Golden Bears came out flying and never looked back on their way to a 7-1 victory over the Rebels. Damon Theara, Bobby Gram, Devin Phillips, and Anthony Grant had opening period tallies for North Carolina, as they took a 4-0 edge into the break.

The scoring continued as Phillips tallied his 2nd of the game to kick-off the 2nd half, and then Ryan Henry and Thomas Alden closed out the offensive explosion for North Carolina. Mike Carrelli had the lone goal for the Rebels.

WARRIORS 2 - MARYLAND 1 (SO)

Heading into this weekend's showcase, the EHL had seen just a single game go into a shootout so far this season. That number was multiplied on Sunday, as the Warriors and Team Maryland capped off the action with the 3rd shootout of the day.

After a scoreless 1st half, Savane Kisich got Maryland on the board just 1:17 into the 2nd half. Following Maryland's goal, the Warriors evened things up late in the frame, as Nolan Shaw forced overtime.

In overtime, Maryland was unable capitalize on a brief power-play at the end of the frame, and then Luke Wright  won the game for the Warriors in the 5th round of the shootout.

DAY #2 GAME RECAPS - 10/1/18

APPLECORE 4 - EXPRESS 1

We had another good battle to kick-off the final day of action in Walpole, as the Applecore and Express hit the ice for the first time this season. In the opening half, Thomas O'Brien scored his 2nd goal of the weekend for New York and Hunter Phillips tallied his first career EHL goal. That's where the score remained, 1-1 heading into the 2nd half.

In that 2nd half, the scoreboard was controlled by the Applecore, as Race Bennett and Connor Wooley put New York up by a pair, and then Wooley added a late empty-net goal to ice the game. Andrew Gargiulo was stellar between the pipes for the Applecore, turning away 36 of the 37 shots that Walpole sent his way.

SEAHAWKS 2 - ROUGHRIDERS 1 (OT)

Another day, another goaltending battle for the Seahawks. After knocking off the Rangers by the score of 1-0 on Sunday, the Seahawks found themselves in another very tight contest on Monday. In the opening, both teams found the back of the net, as Tommy Schwartz got his 3rd of the weekend for Connecticut and Patrick O'Neal evened things up just about 4 minutes later.

No more scoring took place until 1:44 into overtime, as Jon Murphy gave the Seahawks the showcase sweep. Murphy's tally was assisted by John Banovetz, and Ethan Williams made 30 saves en route to his first career EHL victory.

WOLVES 8 - REVOLUTION 3

A day after earning some revenge over the Avalanche, the Revolution were upset by the Wolves on Monday morning. For the Wolves, day #2 of the Walpole Showcase brought with it an offensive explosion.

Daniels Leja, Zach Wagner, and Tommy Condon all had 2 goals apiece, while Joe McGrath and Spencer Norris collected the other tallies for the Wolves. In total, 12 different players notched at least a point for the Wolves, led by Condon who netted 5 to his name.

Noah Bradley, Samir Abouelhana, and Tyler Rossi scored in the 2nd half for the Revolution, but it was to little to late in an 8-3 defeat. Thomas Lemire made 30 saves on his way to the win.

RANGERS 4 - AVALANCHE 1

The Rangers snapped their 3-game losing skid and evened up their season series with the Avalanche on Monday morning. Levi Hensley and Erik Nilsson each scored on the power-play in the first half, to put the Rangers ahead 2-0 heading towards the break. However, Jake Adkins was able to cut the deficit to 1 for New Hampshire, as he scored his 5th goal of the season late in the 1st half.

In the 2nd half, John Grealish and Jonah Nash extended the lead up to 4-1, and from there, Aiden Curry shut the door for the Rangers. The '98 turned away 26 of the 27 shots he faced, en route to his second win of the season.

LITTLE FLYERS 3 - WARRIORS 2 (SO)

The streak continues, as the Little Flyers sneak by the Warriors with a 3-2 victory by way of the shootout. With the win, Philadelphia is now a perfect 9-0-0 to start the season.

For the Little Flyers, this game had a similar start to that of many of their games this year, as Kyle Scott got his team on the board just over 3 minutes into the contest. However, Zach Trepanier and Tao Ishizuka scored the next 2 goals for the Warriors. The 1-goal lead remained the difference in the game, until very late in the 2nd half.

With 3 and 1/2 minutes left to go in regulation Mikey Giampapa tied the score for the Little Flyers, and then Austin Master preserved his team perfect record with his winning tally in the shootout.

Between the pipes, Thomas McLarnon made 17 saves on the way to his 3rd win of the season.

JR. FLYERS 5 - LUMBERJACKS 3

A top-notch comeback in the 2nd half, gave the Jr. Flyers their 5th straight win to start the season. After trailing 3-1 early in the 2nd half, Philadelphia scored 4 unanswered on their way to a 5-3 victory.

Christian Brunelle got the Jr. Flyers on the board first, but his opening tally was met by goals from Mason Emoff and James Boisvert to give Vermont a 2-1 lead heading into the break. Even after the break, things were still pointing the Lumberjacks way as Jackson Aldrich stretched the lead up to 3-1.

However, the next 4 goals belong to the Jr. Flyers, as  Joe Platt, Conor Johnson, Nick Kiemel, and Michael Houlihan all found the back of the net. While Philadelphia made the comeback, Tim Carpenter stood tall between the pipes, racking up 35 saves to his name.

KNIGHTS 6 - WIZARDS 3

The 2nd to last game of the weekend on the NHL Rink was a back and forth affair between the Knights and Wizards. Ultimately it was the Knights who earned some revenge, after dropping the first meeting between these 2 teams back on September 20th.

The opening frame featured just a single goal, as Matthew Bielinski had Wilkes-Barre/Scranton up 1-0 at the end of 25 minutes. From there, the scoring ramped up.

The teams went back-and-forth for the next 6 goals, as the Wizards came back to tie the game 3 separate times. That pattern finally broke when Johnny Jackson followed up a goal from Osmundas Balciunaitis, and now leading 5-3, the Knights never looked back on their way to a 6-3 victory.

87S 4 - CHIEFS 3 (OT)

For the 2nd straight day, the New Jersey 87s found themselves in arguably the tightest matchup of the Walpole Showcase. After 25 minutes, things were looking good for New Jersey, as Jack Keryluk, Cam Lindsay, and Geoff LaMorre had their team up 3-0 heading into the break.

The script flipped in the 2nd half, as Kyle McEnany got the Chiefs on the board, and 2 quick strikes from Scot Lawson evened up the hockey game at 3 apiece. Ultimately though, it was the 87s day, as Lindsay's 2nd of the game won the contest for New Jersey in overtime.

TEAM MARYLAND 5 - GOLDEN BEARS 2

In the final game of the Walpole Showcase, we had another new franchise claim their first ever junior hockey victory.

Brad Heuer and Mac Brice had Team Maryland up by the score of 2-1 at the break, and then Heuer scored 2 more goals in the 2nd half to complete his first career EHL hat-trick. Tack on a goal for Sean Carver, and that was plenty of offense for Team Maryland, as Tanner Beals stood tall between the pipes.
