EHL Champion Set to Join Golden Eagles Next Fall

HOOKSETT, NH -- AJ Przystawski, a defenseman for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to SUNY Brockport for the fall of 2019.

The '98 is in his 3rd season in the EHL, and his 2nd with the Avalanche. The 6'4 native of Burlington, CT played a key role on last season's team that ended their first year, with their first title.

"AJ has battled a nagging injury that has limited his game time, but we are looking for him to return shortly and get right back into the lineup, and be an important piece for us again this season," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He went on a few visits this season and really enjoyed the time he spent with Coach Dickinson at Brockport. He will be joining a couple of my former players in Shane Visnick and Doc Gentzler, and I think AJ is going to do a great job on the blue line for the Golden Eagles. I am proud of him and very excited that he earned this opportunity to continue his academic and athletic careers."

As Cerrella mentioned, Przystawski is currently sidelined due to injury, but the team hopes to have him back soon. Upon his return, the big defenseman will look to build off of the 25 career points he's tallied so far in the EHL. Przystawski is known more for his physical presence that he brings to the ice, an area of his game that has only gotten better under the guidance of Cerrella. When you pair that up with the support he has at home Przystawski is very grateful.

"I would like to thank my family for all of their support over the last 3 seasons, while I prepared on and off the ice to earn a college commitment and work towards my ultimate goal, a college degree," said Przystawski. "I would like to thank Coach Cerrella for helping me over the last 3 seasons and preparing me for the next level. I also would like to thank Mario Martiniello and the entire New Hampshire Avalanche organization for everything they have done for me the last 2 years. I am very excited to join the Brockport family, both on the ice and in the classroom."

For now, Prystawski will continue to work to make his way back into the lineup as the Avalanche have a big stretch of games ahead of them.
