RoughRiders Alums Claim Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- Another week, and another set of Eastern Hockey League (EHL) alums have claimed honors at the Division III level. This week, a pair of former members of the Connecticut RoughRiders each had their name called.

Michael Tilford made 38 saves for Nazareth College, as they knocked off Utica Collegewith a 4-3 victory on Friday night. With the win, Tilford was named the Goalie of the Week in the UCHC (United Collegiate Hockey Conference).

Tilford was the anchor for the RoughRiders during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. Combined between the regular seasons and the postseasons, Tilford won 55 total games during his time in the EHL. The '95 native of Traverse City, MI has since turned a solid junior career into an impressive collegiate career, totaling 12 wins in 2+ seasons with the Golden Flyers. Tilford also owns a career 2.49 GAA and .920 save percentage at Nazareth.

Flipping over the offensive side of the game, and Mitchell Parsons was named the Rookie of the Week in the SUNYAC (State University of New York Athletic Conference). The '97 helped lead a 4-goal comeback victory for SUNY Brockport over SUNY Potsdam, finding the back of the net once and also dishing out an assist. Parsons currently leads his team in scoring, with 6 points to his name (3 goals and 3 assists).

Being one the top offensive weapons is nothing new for Parsons, as he finished 2nd on his team in scoring last season. The native of Grandville, MI notched 66 points in 45 total games (including playoffs). The 2017-18 season was also the only year Parsons spent in the EHL.

The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week in the EHL will be released on Monday, November 19th at 12:00pm. Be sure to catch the #Eshow all season long on HockeyTV.
