EHL All-Star Set to Join Cadets in the Fall of 2019

HOOKSETT, NH -- Niks Krollis, a defenseman for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Norwich University for the fall of 2019.

The EHL All-Star is in his second season with the Avalanche, after playing a key role on last year's championship team. To date, Krollis has tallied 34 points in 49 total games (regular season and playoffs) for New Hampshire.

"Niks is in my opinion, the best offensive-defenseman in the EHL," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He skates very well, sees the ice very well, and is dangerous when he has the puck on his stick. He has done a great job for us over the last two seasons and I am very happy for him. Norwich University was a perfect fit for Niks both on the ice and in the community. He found exactly what he was looking for and felt very comfortable with the coaching staff and the Norwich campus. I think Niks is going to be a great addition to the university and to the Cadets locker room. I wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future, I could not be more proud."

As Cerrella mentioned, Krollis felt very comfortable when he visited the school and coaching staff. Getting a quality education, while also competing in the tough New England Hockey Conference (NEHC), were key factors that helped the native of Latvia finalize his decision. From winning to all last season, to being a part of this year's EHL All-Star Weekend, Krollis has done it all in the EHL. The '99 took some time to reflect and give his thanks to all of those who helped him reach this point.

"I am very excited to be joining the Norwich University community next fall," said Krollis. "It was a great fit for me both on and off the ice, and I felt very comfortable on my visit. I want to thank the entire Norwich staff for giving me the opportunity to earn my college degree and play for a great hockey program. I want to thank Coach Cerrella and the entire Avalanche staff for believing in me and helping me every step of the way. I want to thank my billet family, Brian and Jenn Saucier, for everything they have done for me over the last few years. Lastly I would like to thank my mom and dad for all their support from Latvia, and for always supporting me through my hockey journey. I am very excited to be a part of Norwich University next fall."

Krollis and the Avalanche have won 14 straight games, and they will go for their 15th consecutive victory this afternoon at 4:20pm against the Valley Jr. Warriors.
