Avalanche Defenseman Set to Join Roos in the Fall of 2020

HOOKSETT, NH -- Jake Pasquini, a defenseman for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to SUNY Canton for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Albany, NY is in his first season with the Avalanche, and to date, he's tallied 13 points in 17 total games on the blue line.

"Jake started out the gates a little slow, as he adjusted to the EHL level," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "Now he is in my opinion, one of the best all-around defenseman in the league. He is very smart with decisions, moves the puck well, and is rock-solid defensively. Being able to play one more year for us will only make him bigger and stronger as he prepares for Division III college hockey with SUNY Canton. I am very excited for him and think this is a great opportunity for Jake and his family. I wish him nothing but the best, he is going to be a very good college hockey player."

As Cerrella mentioned, Pasquini now has a huge weight off of his shoulders for the next couple years. With his commitment behind him, all he has to do now is focus on developing throughout the rest of the 2018-19 season and then continuing to progress in the 2019-20 season. Pasquini is very excited about the future, as well as the extended time he will have with the Avalanche.

"I am very thrilled to be joining Suny Canton in the fall of 2020-21," said Pasquini. "SUNY Canton felt like a great fit for me in the classroom and on the ice. I want to thank Coach Cerrella for believing in me and helping me reach my goal of playing college hockey. I want to especially thank my family for all of their help and support over the years. I want to thank all my teammates for their continued support over the years. I am very excited to be joining SUNY Canton in the future.
