Philippon, Daluisio, and Walker Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) wrapped up the 2018-19 Showcase Series this past Sunday and Monday at Rodman Arena. The pair of days in Walpole, MA, brought with them a number of great matchups and performances from across the league.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Colin Philippon (Vermont Lumberjacks), Nick Daluisio (Philadelphia Little Flyers), and Thomas Walker (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

With the all four league showcases now in the rearview mirror, all the focus amongst the 18 teams shifts primarily towards the EHL Playoffs. The upcoming schedule includes at least one game per day until February 12th, and following that date, there is only one other off day throughout the rest of the regular season.

The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Tuesday, January 22nd at 4:00pm. Remember to catch the #Eshow all season long on HockeyTV.

FORWARD - Colin Philippon (Vermont Lumberjacks)

Philippon and the Lumberjacks won their only game at the January Showcase, a 7-1 decision over the New England Wolves. With the victory, Vermont maintains their spot in 3rd place in their division, and 6th place overall in the New England Conference. The Lumberjacks are in a tight battle for home-ice advantage in the first round, and they've been playing well as of late, having won six of their last eight games.

As for Philippon, the '99 native of Salem, NH had a pair of goals and a pair of assists in the win over the Wolves. For the season, Philippon now has 14 points through his first 27 games in the EHL. Looking ahead, the Lumberjacks' forward will look to build off of this momentum with the next six straight games for Vermont all taking place in the friendly confines of Leddy Arena.

DEFENSEMAN - Nick Daluisio (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

The accolades keep coming for the Little Flyers' top defensive pairing, as combined between Daluisio and Zikmund Mroz, Philadelphia has now taken home six different honors throughout the 2018-19 regular season.

The '98 veteran defenseman helped pace his team with a goal and three assists, as the Little Flyers knocked-off both the Connecticut RoughRiders and the Walpole Express at the January Showcase. The weekend sweep improves the team's record up to 30-2-1 for the season, and runs their active winning streak up to 11, which is the longest stretch they've had so far this year.

Coming up on Friday, Philadelphia gets a chance at revenge for one of their two regulation losses, as they take on the New Jersey 87s at 12:15pm.

GOALTENDER - Thomas Walker (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights)

Speaking of showcase sweeps, Walker and the Knights also took care of business at the January Showcase. The perfect showcase weekend was Wilkes-Barre's third of the season, having previously swept both the October and December feature events. As for Walker, the '99 native of Spotswood, NJ was beyond stellar between the pipes.

In the Knights first matchup of the showcase, Walker turned aside 31 of the 32 shots he faced in a 2-1 victory over the New Hampshire Avalanche. Flip over to the next day, and the Knights won by the same exact score, as Walker made 27 saves on 28 shots against the Boston Jr. Rangers. For the season, Walker now has 14 wins, to go along with a 2.81 GAA and .921 save percentage. The Knights are right in the thick of things in the Mid-Atlantic Conference standings, as they get set to take on the New York Applecore in each of their next three games.

HONORABLE MENTION - Brendan Darby (East Coast Wizards)

Brendan Darby and the East Coast Wizards won four games in six days this past week, including each of their matchups at the January Showcase. The '99 native of Chatham, NJ scored three goals and dished out five assists in those games. Ever since joining the Wizards in late November, Darby has provided a great spark to the offense, with 21 points in 14 total games to date.
