Kusior, Dunning, and Collett Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- Only two weeks remain in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) regular season, as the past seven days featured all 18 teams in action, with a number of great matchups across the league. As the week unfolded, the New Jersey 87s clinched a First Round bye in the EHL Playoffs, by winning the North Division of the Mid-Atlantic Conference. We also saw this year's 12-team playoff field officially clinched, and now, the battle begins for home-ice advantage.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Adam Kusior (Vermont Lumberjacks), Nate Dunning (Philadelphia Little Flyers), and Brandan Collett (Seahawks Hockey Club) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

Week #22 of the regular season includes action on every day, starting tomorrow at Noon. The next seven days feature 22 total games, as the playoff teams look to lock up their final seeds for the postseason. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Monday, February 25th. Remember to catch the #Eshow all season long on HockeyTV.

FORWARD - Adam KusiorĀ (Vermont Lumberjacks)

Kusior and the Lumberjacks swept their two-game series with the Boston Jr. Rangers, and moved into 3rd place in the New England Conference.

As for Kusior, the '98 forward from Ontario, Canada scored 59 seconds in Saturday's matchup, and went on to tally six total points over the weekend (four goals, two assists). For the season, Kusior now has 30 points through 40 total games, and has put his name on the scoresheet in six of his team's last seven contests.

The Lumberjacks are one of the hottest teams in the EHL, as they own a record of 12-1-0 since returning from the holiday break in early January. Now in control of their own destiny with regards to the #3 seed, Kusior and the Lumberjacks will try to lock that up this week, with a pair of weekday matchups against the North Carolina Golden Bears. They will then hit the road for their final two games of the regular season, as they take on the Connecticut Chiefs and the Connecticut RoughRiders.

DEFENSEMAN - Nate DunningĀ (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

Speaking of taking care of business, Dunning in the Little Flyers did just that as well, as they won all three of their games and clinched the EHL Regular Season Championship for the 4th time in franchise history.

As for Dunning, the '98 native of Morton, PA scored five goals and dished out a pair of assists over the three games. For the season, the alumnus of the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) now has 27 points in 38 total games to date. The Little Flyers have clinched a First Round bye and home-ice advantage throughout the entire postseason, and they will wrap-up their regular season with a pair of games over the next eight days.

GOALTENDER - Brandan CollettĀ (Seahawks Hockey Club)

Collett and the Seahawks split their pair of games this past week, and clinched their first playoff berth in franchise history. After finishing their inaugural season (2017-18) with a final record of 14-30-6, the Seahawks have made a great turnaround in their second year, as they currently stand at 24-13-4.

As for the Castleton University commit, Collett stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced on Saturday night against the Walpole Express. The win was Collett's 5th of the season, and his 13th during his EHL career. Looking ahead, Collett and the Seahawks have five road games remaining, as they try to secure home-ice in the upcoming EHL Playoffs.

HONORABLE MENTIONS - Malachi Albrecht and Kyle Konin

Sticking with the netminders, the EHL would like to recognize a couple other players who turned in some top-notch performances this past week.

Despite splitting his two games, Malachi Albrecht made 94 saves for the Walpole Express, and that included a 52-save performance in a 3-0 shutout victory over the New Hampshire Avalanche. In his second season in the EHL, Albrecht has nearly doubled his win total, with ten total victories to date.

Last, but not least, we would be feel remorsed to not recognize Kyle Konin for anchoring the Vermont Lumberjacks once again. Konin was in goal for both victories over the Rangers, improving his record up to 8-1-0 since joining the team in January. To go along with his nearly flawless mark with Vermont, Konin also owns a 1.93 GAA and a .938 save percentage.
