The '98 native of Nova Scotia, Canada is in his first season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and to date, he's notched 17 total points to his name.

"Geoff has been steady all year, he came here with a mission to commit to NCAA hockey and he has done just that," said 87s head coach and general manager Adam Houli. "He is a phenomenal defender who can push the pace offensively but also be very strong one-on-one defensively. He will translate well into the college game with his size and skating ability. I am very happy that Geoff trusted the process, trusted our team, our league, and our vision. His accomplishment is well deserved."

When LaMorre arrives on campus this fall, he'll enjoy the comfort of already knowing one of his teammates. Trent Shanley made his decision to join the Falconsback in December, and together, the 87s teammates are the 16th and 17th players in league history to commit to Fitchburg State. LaMorre took some time to show his appreciation for everyone that helped him along the way.

"I'm very honored to become a part of Fitchburg's program," said LaMorre. "It's always been a goal of mine to play NCAA college hockey and I'm glad it has come true. I'm really excited for this opportunity and I'm very much looking forward to the next four years. The 87's have really helped me play my best hockey this year, as well as developing the proper habits and decision making that will certainly aid in transitioning my game to the collegiate level. From the hours we put into the weight room, to our extensive video analysis, to the consistently high level of practice, I believe the 87's organization has really helped me with developing my game the right way this year."

LaMorre and the 87s have already clinched the North Division of the Mid-Atlantic Conference, and thus have earned themselves a bye in the First Round of the EHL Playoffs. New Jersey will wrap-up the regular season with five home games at the Middletown Sports Complex, as they prepare to make their first ever appearance in the postseason.
