BURLINGTON, VT -- Ben Lau, a defenseman for the Vermont Lumberjacks, has committed to Trine University for the Fall of 2017. The 6'3, 205-pound blue-liner tallied a goal and 20 assists in 49 games during the 2016-17 season.
"Our organization is honored to have been a part of Ben’s journey to play college hockey and wish him the very best," said Lumberjacks head coach Doc DelCastillo. "It will be exciting to follow his college career beginning in the Fall of 2017.”
Lau spent two seasons with the Lumberjacks and continued to develop every time he stepped on the ice. The native of Kentucky is thankful for the time he spent in Vermont, and took some time to say thanks to those who helped him.
"I am excited to announce my commitment to Trine University," said Lau "I would like to thank my family for helping me and supporting me throughout my junior career. I would also like to thank Coach Doc and the Vermont Lumberjacks organization for helping me develop as a player and a person."

HOOKSETT, NH -- Dillon Radin, a forward for the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs, has committed to UMass Dartmouth for the Fall of 2017. After tallying 20 points in 38 total games during the 2015-16 season with the New York Applecore, the '96 headed North for his final year of junior hockey.
This past season with the Monarchs, Radin tallied 32 points in 40 regular season games, and then added on 5 points in 6 playoff games. The native of New York owned a nice split in his points, with 18 total goals and 19 total assists.
This Fall, Radin will be joined by Daniel Gunning (Connecticut Nighthawks), the other EHL player who made his commitment to the Corsairs. While just a pair of commits may seem small, the future teammates will be joining a team already filled with 13 EHL alumni on the roster.

It didn't take long for Monarch's coach Stephen Mallaro to build a strong rapport with the EHL coaches. The former Oswego State Laker has a big task ahead of him in launching a new program, but he feels confident in the group that he's bringing in. The confidence is built firmly off of Mallaro's trust in the EHL process.
“The Eastern Hockey League is an easy sell for King’s College," said Mallaro. "Each player represents the league’s character both on and off the ice. Putting development first is key to helping players move on to the next level; the EHL is a perfect example of this. King’s College will continue to support and pursue college ready players out of the Eastern Hockey League.”
