2016-17 Goalie of the Year Set to Join the Bantams

HARTFORD, CT -- Dating back to the formation of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) in 2013, a total of 8 players have made their commitments to Trinity College while playing in the #Eshow. That number also includes this past season's Goalie of the Year, Samuel Kany.

"I've always enjoyed working with the EHL," said Trinity head coach Matthew Greason. "When I get a player from this league, I know they will not be out-worked by anyone. They play hard in every zone and that is clearly a result of the competitive league where they developed."

This season's two Trinity commits are each netminders that performed well in their final season of junior hockey. Kany spent the past two years with the Philadelphia Little Flyers, and the Arizona native racked up 43 total victories along the way.

In the North Conference, Nick Scarpa won 12 games and posted a 2.44 GAA for the Valley Jr. Warriors this past season. Both goalies are looking forward to the future, and Kany knows they're in for a great experience with the Bantams.

"I would like to say thank you to Coach Greason for giving me this great opportunity," said Kany. "Trinity College is a hockey powerhouse with a winning culture every year. Most importantly it is a fantastic academic opportunity to attend a very prestigious college. I am excited to get on the ice with the Bantams this fall, and return to the national championship.”

Be sure to check back in again next week for a new EHL Pipeline of the Week.
