RoughRiders Captain Set to Join Pair of Teammates this Fall

NORWALK, CT -- Tommy Schwartz, a forward for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Saint Anselm College for the fall of 2020.

The '99 native of Ridgefield, CT recently completed his 3rd and final junior hockey season with the RoughRiders. Looking back on his Eastern Hockey League (EHL) career, Schwartz tallied 83 total points in 142 career games.

"Tommy has a quick release and can get his shot off effortlessly in stride," said RoughRiders head coach and general manager Eric Lind. "He has great hands in tight and excels in the cycle style game where he is excellent on his skating edges and can turn on a dime.”

When you look back further in Schwartz's career, he actually spent a total of seven seasons with the RoughRiders' program, when you combine his junior years with his midget years.

"He is a true team player with an extraordinary effort level on the ice," said RoughRiders associate head coach Steven Brown. "He is a play-maker who can control the pace of the game, combined with a dangerous snapshot."

Schwartz and is 3rd EHL player to commit to Saint Anselm so far this season, joining his teammates, Connor Snowdy and Will Christensen.
