Ducks All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Golden Eagles this Fall

SOMERSET, NJ -- Ryan Brow, a defenseman for the Protec Jr Ducks, has committed to SUNY Brockport for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Monroe, MI came to the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) for his age-out season of juniors, and that decision has been proven to be beneficial with this decision. Brow is the 1st player in Ducks' history to choose the Golden Eagles hockey program at SUNY Brockport.

"Ryan is one of those rare guys that makes everyone around him better by the way he leads, both on and off the ice; he is always pushing his teammates to be better," said Ducks head coach and general manager Terry Watt. "He is a true gamer with lots of potential and our organization wishes him the best of luck with his college career as we were lucky to have him and his leadership this season."

To date this season, Brow has notched 30 points in 37 total games, solidifying himself as part of the conversation for the 2021-22 Defenseman of the Year award in the EHL. As for this upcoming fall, Brow is one of four EHL players heading off to join Brockport, as he'll become new teammates with Josh Grund of the Boston Jr RangersDominic Chirico of the Connecticut Chiefs, and Josh Higgins of the New Hampshire Avalanche.

"Playing college hockey has been a goal of mine since the age of 12, so as I was researching schools, Brockport turned out to be the absolute perfect fit," said Brow. "This season with the Ducks and Coach Watt in the EHL, has prepared me for the next level of my hockey career and I couldn’t be more thankful.  I look forward to playing for Coach [Brian] Dickinson at Brockport in the competitive SUNYAC conference next season."

As mentioned above, Brow will become new teammates with a group of EHL players in the fall, however he has played with Grund and Chirico already once this season. Back in October, the three veterans were all a part of the EHL All-Star Team that took on Curry College and UMass Boston.

Now, looking forward, Brow can focus on his development over the rest of the season, along with leading his team on a deep playoff run in the month of March.
