Ducks All-Star Forward Set to Join Blue Devils this Fall

SOMERSET, NJ -- Spencer Quinn, a forward for the Protec Jr Ducks, has committed to SUNY Fredonia for the fall of 2022.

The '01 native of Rochester, NY is in his 2nd season with the Ducks, and in 63 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Quinn has collected 79 total points to his credit.

"Quinner is a guy that got an opportunity and never looked back," said Ducks head coach and general manager Terry Watt. "For the second straight season he has been a big part of our offense and continues to be among the top point scorers in the EHL. It has been awesome to work with Spencer for the last two years and we are so happy that he will be continuing his hockey career at the next level, we wish him all the best!"

As Watt mentioned, the point production for Quinn has only increased throughout his time in the EHL, as he has nearly doubled his total from last year in the current 2021-22 season. While Quinn goes down as the 1st Duck in program history to choose Fredonia, he was shortly followed by his linemate Nick Newman, and the pair of EHL All-Stars will take the next step together this fall.

"My time in the EHL has been a blast," said Quinn. "These past two years with the Protec Ducks has really helped me develop, both on and off the ice. I’m very thrilled to have the opportunity to play for the Blue Devils this next season and further develop my game."

Quinn and the Ducks are fighting right in the thick of things in the South Division standings, and Protec will look to lean on their veteran forward down the final stretch of the regular season. It's worth noting that Quinn doesn't shy away from the pressure, as he currently leads the league with seven game-winning goals.
