Wolves Second-Year Defenseman Set to Join Greyhounds this Fall

LACONIA, NH -- Nick Demio, a defenseman for the New England Wolves, has committed to Assumption University for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Duxbury, MA is in his second season with the Wolves program, and through 79 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Demio has earned himself 28 total points, and that includes a 6-15--21 stat line for this current season.

The Greyhounds' NCAA Division II program plays in the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10), where they currently sit atop the 2022-23 standings. They also captured the 2021-22 NE-10 Championship.

Nick becomes the second EHL player to commit to the school this season, and sixth in the last two seasons.

Assumption University is a private, Roman Catholic, liberal arts university in Worcester, Massachusetts with an enrollment of about 2,000 undergraduates. The University offers 35 majors and 49 minors with newly added programs in cybersecurity, data analytics, health sciences, neuroscience, nursing, and physician assistant studies.

Wolves' head coach Tim Kunes has seen Nick develop into a full 200-foot player, saying, "Nick is a player who has improved a lot while in our program. He was a key member of the team last year that made a run to the Frozen Finals. He’s been great all season this year as well. I’m proud of him and all of his hard work to achieve his goal of playing college hockey next year at Assumption."

The Wolves are in the midst of a tight battle for 2nd place and home ice advantage in the first round of the North Division playoffs.
