RoughRiders All-Star Forward Set to Join Cardinals this Fall

NORWALK, CT -- Dallas D'Amato, a forward for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Wesleyan University for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native Overland Park, KS is in his third season with the RoughRiders program, and over the course of 110 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), D'Amato has tallied 111 total points on 41 goals and 70 assists.

“Dallas’ dedication to the game both on and off the ice has paid off as he embraced our player developmental structure," said RoughRiders head coach and general manager Eric Lind. "He has taken every tool presented to him from the ice, gym, leadership, nutrition, sports psychology and even sleep monitoring. That combined with his extremely hard work ethic and compete level sets him up beautifully for the college game.”

As Lind mentioned, the EHL All-Star has taken steps forward in every season he's played in the league, capping it all off with this commitment.

D'Amato is the second player in RoughRiders' history to come east and ultimately end up at Wesleyan. D'Amato follows a similar path to Walker Harris, a native of Colorado who spent a season with the RoughRiders before advancing to join the Cardinals.

This fall, D'Amato will team up with Michael Fritz from the New Hampshire Avalanche and Tanner Kontir from the Protec Jr. Ducks, as Wesleyan has now committed 18 players from the EHL since the league was formed back in 2013.

Connecticut has a pair of games left on their regular season schedule, as later this week they will take on the New York Apple Core and HC Rhode Island. If D'Amato and the RoughRiders can win both games and get a little bit of extra help along the way, they can climb their way up into the #3 seed in the Central Division.
