Rhode Island All-Star Forward Set to Join Falcons this Fall

WARWICK, RI -- Alex Bauvais, a forward for HC Rhode Island, has committed to Fitchburg State University for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of France chose Rhode Island for his final season of junior hockey, and in 47 total Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games this past year, Bauvais tallied 39 points to his credit.

“I’ve known Alex and his family for several years and am very happy for them," said Rhode Island general manager Toby O'Brien. "Alex has always been a very talented player, but I’m proud of how he grew more in this year than in all the years I’ve known him. Coach [Dean] Fuller is getting a very good player and we wish Alex nothing but the best in his future endeavors, and we are so proud that he was part of HC Rhode Island in our first year."

Bauvais now sets off to join the Falcons, a program that has heavily recruited the EHL since the league was formed back in 2013. Bauvais is one of 35 players that have committed to Fitchburg State while playing in the EHL, and he's part of an incoming freshmen class that includes six other players from the league this past season.

When the All-Star scorer arrives on campus, he will become new teammates with Graham Broadfoot (Protec Jr. Ducks), Jackson Collins (Vermont Lumberjacks), Adam Nedelka (Boston Jr. Rangers), Andrew Woloszyn (New Hampshire Avalanche), and both Isaiah McKinney and Kris Zapata from the New Jersey 87's.

“The decision to play for HC Rhode Island in the Eastern Hockey League, was a very good one for me, "I grew both as a player and as a person. I made great friends and the level of the game was very good. This all allowed me to realize my desire to grow my game at the NCAA level and am very excited to take that step at Fitchburg State in the fall."
