Wizards Second-Year Defenseman Set to Join Ravens this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- Rocco Seery, a defenseman for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Franklin Pierce University (FPU) for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Bloomingdale, IL recently finished his second and final season with the Wizards, and over the course of 88 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Seery tallied 30 total points to his credit.

“Rocco made tremendous gains throughout his two seasons with us,” said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. “He was a big impact for us the second half of last year [2021-22] and all of this year [2022-23]. We can’t wait to see him succeed at Franklin Pierce!”

The Ravens have always been heavy recruiters of the EHL, as Seery goes in the books as the 47th player in league history to choose FPU. This fall alongside his 2022-23 teammates Nick Fish and Theo Jacobs, Seery will also team up with Max Banoun of the New York Apple Core, Todd Branish of the New Jersey 87's, Nathanel Peretz of the New England Wolves, Nick Tessier of the New Hampshire Avalanche, and John Sterling of the Seahawks Hockey Club.

Seery is excited to be a part of the eight-player class that the EHL is sending to FPU, and beyond grateful to everyone that helped him reach this point in his hockey career.

"I’d like to thank my parents for always supporting me throughout my hockey career and helping me grow as a person, both on and off the ice,” said Seery. “I also would like to thank Coach Falite for a great two years with the Wizards, and my advisor Mike Pilon for helping me get the opportunity to play college hockey. I’m extremely excited to attend and play hockey at Franklin Pierce."
