Lumberjacks All-Star Captain Set to Join Colonels this Fall

BURLINGTON, VT -- Victor Daigneault, a forward for the Vermont Lumberjacks, has committed to Curry College for the fall of 2023.

The '02 native of Canada recently finished his final season of junior hockey, after joining the Lumberjacks back in second half of the 2020-21 season. Overall, in 119 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), the Lumberjacks' All-Star Captain tallied 139 total points to his credit on 46 goals and 93 assists.

“Over the past three seasons Victor has displayed his elite skill, passion, and leadership, both on and off the ice," said Lumberjacks' EHL head coach Seth Gustin. "Watching him grow and develop this past season as a Captain ensures me he will exceed any obstacle in life. He is a winner, and ultimate competitor - I’m looking forward to his future at Curry College.”

Jack Lowry, the Head Coach of Vermont's EHLP team, and Assistant Coach for the EHL team, shared his thoughts on Daigneault as well.

“Being able to be part of Victor's growth and development over these past three years as both a player and a young man has been a joy to watch,” said Lowry. “His hard work, attention to detail, and leadership have all come together for him going to his dream school Curry College. Curry is getting a dynamic player with speed, skill, and determination.”

Daigneault is one of three EHL players heading to Curry this fall, as he will team up with Nolan McDonough of the Express Hockey Club and Ben Nichols of the Seahawks Hockey Club, when he arrives on campus.

“I’m honored to join the great Curry College organization and look forward to helping the team maintain the high standards they’ve built over the years," said Daigneault.

The veteran playmaker went on to show his appreciation for the Lumberjacks' program.

“I’d like to thank the Lumberjacks organization for helping progress these last three years and bring my game to the next level, and most particularly Coaches [Jim] Mosso, [Gary] Gill, and Gustin,” added Daigneault. “They gave me increasing roles every year to help me improve my game. I would also like to thank my teammates that have challenged me every day and gave me no other choice but to step up my game.”
