BEDFORD, MA -- Will Rice, a forward for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Bowdoin College for the fall of 2024.

The '04 native of Cambridge, MA chose the Wizards for what will turn out to be his first and only season of junior hockey. Overall, through 19 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, Rice has tallied 25 total points to his credit on 11 goals and 14 assists.

"Will has been a leader from day 1, both on and off the ice for us," said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. "He’s put so much time into not only the sport but his academics as well, and we’re so excited to see that pay off for him. We know he will continue to be huge impact for us the rest of the year, and we’re excited to see him succeed at the next level."

Rice goes in the books as the 10th player in league history commit to Bowdoin, and the 88th player to choose a program in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).

"I'm super excited and grateful to be committed to studying and playing hockey at Bowdoin," said Rice. "Thank you to the Bowdoin coaching staff for this incredible opportunity. Also a huge thank you to my parents for all the support over the years. I want to thank everyone with the Wizards organization, especially our coaches, Kory Falite, Joe Ripa, Eddie Pavlini, and Adrian Peacock. I'm excited for the big season ahead with an amazing group of guys."

Rice and the Wizards exit the Thanksgiving break in 2nd place in the East Division, and 4th player overall in the league standings, with a record of 14-4-2.
