Wizards All-Star Captain Set to Join Leopards this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- George Kolovos, a forward for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to the Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) for the fall of 2024.

The '03 native of Canada is in his second season with the Wizards, and his first while serving as one of the team's captains. Overall, in 64 career Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, Kolovos has tallied 77 points to his credit on 33 goals and 44 assists.

"We couldn’t be more excited for George on his commitment to Wentworth," said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. "He has been such a huge piece for us these past two seasons. He has worked extremely hard on his game, both on and off the ice, and his numbers show it. We can’t wait to see him continue to develop his game and have success at the next level."

That hard work that Falite is referring to was recognized early on last season, when he was selected to the EHL All-Star Team that faced-off against Nazareth College and SUNY Brockport. Also, if it wasn't for an early-season injury this year, the veteran forward would have likely been selected to play on the Main All-Star Team once again.

Despite that minor setback, Kolovos pushed through and persevered by making this commitment to join WIT this fall.

"I'm so excited for this opportunity to be a part of Wentworth's hockey program," said Kolovos "I want to thank my friends, family, advisor Chris Santello, the Wizards, Coach Falite and staff for their help with everything. I’m pumped for this next chapter and can’t wait to get things started in the fall."

With this decision now complete, the Wizards All-Star will look to lead his team down the stretch and into March, with hopes that East Coast can reach the Frozen Finals for the first time since 2019.
