Maryland Goaltender Joins Ravens for Second Half of 2023-24 Season

ODENTON, MD -- Riley Mastowski, a goaltender for Team Maryland, has committed and joined the program at Franklin Pierce University (FPU) for the second half of the current 2023-24 season.

The '03 native of Jamestown, PA returned to Team Maryland this season, for his second year in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Over the course of his year and a half spent in the league, Mastowski posted a record of 4-5-0 in nine total starts.

"We're extremely proud of Riley to have the opportunity to play for Franklin Pierce University this season," said Maryland head coach and general manager Eric Progen. "Riley has handled himself in a mature and professional manner for Team Maryland over the last two seasons. He has a high work ethic and compete level that will only help his game translate to FPU. We are excited to watch his game continue to grow as he achieves his goals at FPU."

Mastowski will feel right at home as he joins FPU, having already played a full season for the Ravens' Head Coach. Prior to Progen taking over in Maryland this year, the previous coach of Team Maryland was Josh Fusco, who has since taken over the NCAA Division II team in New Hampshire. Fusco and the Ravens have a record of 9-13 in his first 22 games as an NCAA Head Coach.

"I am excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Franklin Pierce University," said Mastowski. "I would like to thank all my family, friends, teammates, and coaches that have helped me along the way of achieving my goal of playing NCAA hockey. I’m excited for the next 4 years and can’t wait to join the FPU community this semester."
