Wizards Goaltender Set to Join Leopards this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- Gavin Kiley, a goaltender for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to the Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) for the fall of 2024.

The '03 native of Methuen, MA is in his second season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and first full year with the Wizards. Combined with his time to start his junior career last season with the New Hampshire Avalanche, Kiley has won nine of his EHL starts between the pipes.

"We are so excited for Gavin and his commitment to Wentworth," said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. "He has worked really hard throughout the time he’s been with us and continues to get better everyday. As a staff we can’t wait to see him continue to grow his game and have success at the next level."

At that next level, Kiley will be joined by one of his current teammates, as George Kolovos also committed to the Leopards' program back in January. Along with the pair of Wizards, Wentworth has also locked in Tristan Boyer from the Railers Jr. Hockey Club, bringing the schools total to 32 EHL commitments since the league was formed back in 2013. It's also important to note that Wentworth has also committed at least one EHL player per season, for all 11 years of the league's existence.

"Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates for the constant support over the years," said Kiley. "A special thank you to the Wizards organization, specifically for believing in me and attributing to my development as a hockey player and a person. Wentworth is an unbelievable opportunity and I couldn’t be more excited to spend the next four years of my athletic and academic career there."

Looking ahead now, Kiley and the Wizards have eight games remaining on their regular season schedule. If the postseason started today, East Coast would be the #2 seed in the East Division Playoffs.
