Apple Core Forward Set to Join Mustangs this Fall

BREWSTER, NY -- Maxim Maziarchuk, a forward for the New York Apple Core, has committed to Morrisville State for the fall of 2024.

The '03 native of Belarus joined the Apple Core for the second half of the season this year, and through 19 total Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games to date, Maziarchuk has tallied 30 points to his credit on 12 goals and 18 assists.

"Since joining us after Christmas break, Max had an immediate impact,” said Apple Core head coach and general manager Lenny Caglianone. “His ability to not only create time and space for his teammates, but score as well, has made him an offensive threat. Most of all, his work ethic is my favorite intangible. His success stems from that high motor he operates with. Congratulations to Max and his family!"

As Caglianone mentioned, Maziarchuk made an immediate impact, while helping to lead New York to their best regular season record in franchise history. Maziarchuk is beyond grateful for the decision that he made in the middle of the season, as it ultimately led to this moment in his hockey career.

"Thank you so much to my teammates," said Maziarchuk. I wouldn’t be able to continue playing if it wasn’t for them. Thank you to the Apple Core organization and my family. I can’t wait to be at Morrisville State next season!"

Following a historic regular season for New York, Maziarchuk and the Apple Core beat the Providence Hockey Club in the First Round of the Central Division Playoffs. Now, this week in the postseason, Maziarchuk and the Apple Core find themselves one win away from the 2024 EHL Frozen Finals. New York and the Railers Jr. Hockey Club are currently tied at one apiece in their best-of-three series. The 'do-or-die' game #3 of the Central Division Finals is set for Noon today in Worcester, MA.
