The '03 native of Shrewsbury, PA recently finished his third and final season of junior hockey under the #EShow umbrella. After beginning his #EShow career off with the Maine Eclipse back in the 2020-21 campaign, Boss finished that year with New England Wolves. Fast forward to his time with the Valley Jr. Warriors in the 2022-23 season, and the Avalanche this year (2023-24), and it was a truly long but also rewarding road for the veteran netminder.

"Sam was great for us this season, and in my opinion, he was the best goalie in the EHL," said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He played all of our toughest games and did very well against the entire league. His numbers were very good. To only lose two games in a tough conference and league, it’s just not easy to do. He is a great athlete and a good young man. UMass Dartmouth has got themselves a warrior in the crease. I am very proud of him and wish him and his family the best of luck."

As Cerrella mentioned, Boos statistically put together one of the best seasons in the EHL. posting a record of 18-2-0 in 20 regular season starts. That production between the pipes was recognized early in the year, as he was selected to the North/East All-Star Team that took on Rivier University and Southern New Hampshire University back in October. Boos is beyond grateful for that unique experience, along with everything else the league provided to him throughout his time.

"I would like to thank my friends, family, and coaches that have helped and guided me during my hockey journey," said Boos. "Playing in the EHL and for the Avalanche put me on a path to play at the next level. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity Coach Noack has given me to continue my athletic and academic journey at UMass Dartmouth."

Having spent time in both the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP), Boos is just the latest example of a player that climbed the #EShow ladder all the way up to NCAA hockey.
