Seahawks Defenseman Finishes Climb to NCAA Hockey

SOUTH DENNIS, MA -- Zach Micciche, a defenseman for Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to Misericordia University for the fall of 2024.

The '03 native of Reading, MA spent a pair of seasons with the Seahawks organization, working his way up from the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP), to the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and now onto NCAA Hockey.

"Zach is a heart and soul type guy," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "He gives everything he has to the group and the logo. Zach trusted the process and stayed with it as he played EHLP and then made the jump to the EHL. Zach is a true character guy and has shown this day in and day out, doing whatever the group needs to be successful."

Micciche spent the majority of the 2022-23 season at the EHLP level, posting 29 points in 31 games. However, he was given an EHL chance that year as well, ultimately finishing the season on the top team's protected list.

Combining the conclusion of that season with this past year (2023-24), Micciche ended his junior hockey career with 62 EHL games under his belt, plus an additional 12 points to his credit.

"I am extremely honored and blessed to announce my commitment to continue my career at Misericordia University," said Micciche. "I would like to thank my family, friends, coaches, teammates, and trainers for everything they’ve done for me to get to this point. I’d also like to extend a thank you to the entire Seahawks organization, Coach Zaniboni, Coach Richard, and Coach Ellerton for everything they have done for me to get me here. I am honored for the opportunity Coach Cole is giving me and excited to be part of building a hockey program at MU.”
