Railers Veteran Forward Finishes Climb to NCAA Hockey

WORCESTER, MA -- Max Beaulac, a forward for the Railers Jr. Hockey Club, has committed to Post University for the fall of 2024.

The '03 native of Fitchburg, MA began his junior hockey career with the Railers at the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) level back in the 2021-22 season. He broke out into an EHLP All Star in his second season, before playing full time in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) this past year, tallying 13 points and adding two goals in five playoff games.

“I didn’t know what to expect my first year, but I had a great time," said Beaulac. "I knew I could develop and become a better player and person here. After two years in the P, I knew I could play at the EHL level. Coach Bertoni gave me the opportunity.”

Bertoni felt the same way about the development that Beaulac displayed throughout his time with the program.

“Max was a two-year player with our EHLP team and finished with our EHL team in year three,” said Railers head coach and general manager Sean Bertoni. “He and his family trusted the process and bought into our program's philosophy. Max's training and effort in the off-season improved his strength and quickness, which allowed him to be successful on the ice.”

Beaulac went on to talk about what it's like playing for the Railers' organization.

“Our coaches here never let their foot off the gas,” added Beaulac. “They stressed the important details and that’s what we all needed every time we stepped on the ice. I can’t thank Coach Bertoni, Coach Fine-Lease, Coach Tyson, and of course Coach A for all their time and dedication to me.”

Just a handful of days after celebrating the Railers’ EHL Championship win, Beaulac toured Post after receiving a call from head coach Tim Richter.

“The campus was a perfect fit for me,” Beaulac recalled. “I felt like I could fit in there and it had everything I needed. Some of the guys I met and Coach Richter made it an easy decision for me. I was more than happy to take that offer.”

Bertoni went on to show his gratitude to Beaulac for trusting the process.

“Max Beaulac is a Railer through and through,” Bertoni concluded. “I couldn't be more proud of Max for his commitment, effort, and attitude over the three years he spent with us. During an exit meeting, one of Max's teammates told me that Max is the greatest teammate he has ever had. That says it all about Max Beaulac.”

That pride is certainly reciprocated from Beaulac.

“I knew Coach Bertoni would come through for me," concluded Beaulac. "The staff here pushes for us to get to the next level, and it’s why this organization is so special.”
