Bears Veteran Defenseman Set to Join Vikings this Fall

FLEMINGTON, NJ -- Cameron Strykowski, a defenseman for the New Jersey Bears, has committed to Salem State University for the fall of 2024.

The '03 native of Elmira, NY chose the Bears for his final season of the junior hockey, and over the course of 39 total games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Strykowski tallied seven points to his credit on a goal and six assists.

"I am so excited for Cam and all the hard work he put in during the season," said Bears head coach Jason Kilcoyne. "Salem State is getting one of the best teammates and people you could get."

Strykowski is one of three EHL players from the 2023-24 season that have chosen Salem State for this upcoming fall. When the veteran defenseman arrives on campus he will team up with Seamus Cummings of the Seacoast Spartans and Jonathan Waselko of the New York Apple Core.

"I would like to thank my parents, teammates, and coaches that helped me so far in my career," said Strykowski. "I am excited to see what the future holds over the next four years at Salem State."
