Tillotson, Lincoln, and Marquart Named 3 Stars of the Week

BOSTON, MA -- We've reached the first "break" of the season, as the teams kick back and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday. The way the schedule breaks down, some teams return to action on Black Friday, while others kick back up on December 1st. This past weekend featured 16 of the 17 EHL's top division teams, and plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

We're pleased to announce that Derek Tillotson (New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs), Sean Lincoln (Valley Jr. Warriors), and Angelo Marquart (New Jersey Rockets) have been named the EHL Stars of the Week.

Also, this week's EHL Team of the Week is the Philadelphia Little Flyers, with an Honorable Mention going out to Collin Appleton of the Philadelphia Revolution.

Derek Tillotson

Tillotson and the Monarchs swept the Vermont Lumberjacks and won the 3rd Annual 'Battle of the Border' this past weekend in New Hampshire. After losing five straight, the Monarchs have returned to form with a four-game winning streak. New Hampshire is currently sitting in first place in the New England Division and is tied with the Boston Bandits at the top of the North Conference, with a game in hand.

  • Friday, November 18th ::: Monarchs 7 - Lumberjacks 2 ::: (1g, 1a, 2p)
  • Saturday, November 19th ::: Monarchs 7 - Lumberjacks 5 ::: (1g, 3a, 4p)

Tillotson's six-point weekend gives him 22 total points on the season (22 games). The native of Bow, New Hampshire has been a key factor in the Monarchs' four-game winning streak, tallying eight total points along the way. The '97 forward will look to continue to lead the charge when the Monarchs return to action on Friday, December 2nd against the Boston Jr. Rangers.

Sean Lincoln

Lincoln and the Warriors won both of their games this past weekend and improved their record to 11-7-2 for the season. Valley currently has 24 points, putting them in 2nd place in the Boston Division.

  • Saturday, November 19th ::: Warriors 5 - Bandits 2 ::: (48 saves)

After Zachery Skop shut out the New England Wolves on Friday, Lincoln stood on his head on the way to knocking off the 1st place Boston Bandits on Saturday. With the win, Lincoln is now 5-5-0 on the season, with a 2.70 GAA and 1 shutout. The '96 netminder from California will look to continue to anchor his team when they return to action on Sunday, December 4th against the New England Wolves.

Angelo Marquart

Marquart and the Rockets won both of their games this past weekend, improving their overall record to 11-10-0 for the season. New Jersey is rolling lately, having won eight of their last ten games since starting 3-8-0.

  • Saturday, November 19th ::: Rockets 6 - Applecore 3 ::: (2g, 0a, 2p)
  • Sunday, November 20th ::: Rockets 3 - Rangers 2 ::: (2g, 0a, 2p)

Marquart's four-goal weekend included the game-winner in both contests. The '97 from Hackettstown, New Jersey now has 20 total points for the season, 15 of which have come in the last ten games. Marquart will look to stay hot when the Rockets return for a huge home-and-home series with the Philadelphia Revolution, December 3rd and 4th.

EHL Team of the Week

This week's EHL Team of the Week is once again the Philadelphia Little Flyers.

While there were five total teams that swept their weekend games, the Little Flyers also broke an EHL record while doing so.

This year's Little Flyers squad is 20-0-1 to start the season, and their 20-game winning streak and 21-game point streak are both EHL records. The past records sat at 14 games for the winning streak, and 20 games for the point streak.

Philadelphia is off now until they return home for a two-game series with the Connecticut Oilers, December 3rd and 4th.

Honorable Mention

This week's Honorable Mention goes out to Collin Appleton of the Philadelphia Revolution who led the way with four points in the two-game sweep of the Connecticut Nighthawks.

Appleton has tallied ten of his 12 total points in Philadelphia's current six-game winning streak.
