BOSTON, MA -- The EHL Division is back in full gear again, following the Thanksgiving break. This past weekend featured all 17 teams in action, and plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.
We're pleased to announce that Jack Burkel (Vermont Lumberjacks), Casey Kubara (Philadelphia Jr. Flyers), and Chris Stangarone (New York Applecore) have been named the EHL Stars of the Week.
Also, this week's Team of the Week is the Vermont Lumberjacks, with an Honorable Mention going out to Shane Visnick (Hartford Jr. Wolfpack).
Burkel and the Lumberjacks swept their weekend series against the Northern Cyclones. Vermont outscored their rival 10-5 over the two games, and Burkel was in net for each victory.
Burkel stopped 80 of the 85 shots he faced, while improving his record to 6-5-0 on the season. The Minnesota native will look to continue to anchor his team when they face-off with the East Coast Wizards on Wednesday, and then play two games in Tewskbury against the Boston Jr. Rangers this weekend.
Kubara and the Jr. Flyers picked up a big weekend sweep over the Connecticut Nighthawks, and '96 forward led the way up front.
Kubara's five-point weekend gives him 17 points in his first 20 games with the Jr. Flyers. After playing all over the world, Kubara has settled in nicely with in the EHL. The Jr. Flyers have a big week ahead of them as they face-off with the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Wednesday, Valley Jr. Warriors on Saturday, and Philadelphia Revolution on Sunday.
Stangarone and the Applecore split their weekend series against the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, and the '97 netminder was between the pipes for New York's victory on Sunday.
Stangarone stood on his head while picking up his 2nd win of the season. The New York native will look continue to anchor his team when they face-off with the Wolfpack again on Sunday.
This week's EHL Team of the Week is the Vermont Lumberjacks.
Vermont enjoyed their stay in New Hampshire, outscoring their rival 10-5 over the two games.

The Wolfpack's leading scorer did just that this past weekend, adding to his team lead in points.
The Philadelphia Little Flyers extended their winning streak to 22 games this past weekend, as they swept the Connecticut Oilers with scores of 4-1 in back to back games. The top goal from the series came on the power-play, as Alex Peterson finished off this beautiful passing play. #EHLTV
