Seahawks Forward Set to Join Amcats this Fall

HYANNIS, MA -- Alex Friend, a forward for the Total Athletics Seahawks, has committed to Anna Maria College for the Fall of 2018. The '97 just finished his first season in the EHL, and he notched 11 points in 38 total games.

"Alex is a big, strong kid who plays his role well," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "We feel that Anna Maria got a great player and a better person. Alex plays with a lot of passion and physical presence. Alex has played in a lot of different situations this year and should be well prepared to help Anna Maria compete at the NCAA level. We are excited for him and his family as the next step in his future is in a great spot."

Friend and Seahawks saw their season end sooner than they had hoped, but should be very proud of their inaugural year in the EHL. At the current moment, the Seahawks are ranked as one of the top five teams in terms of NCAA Commitments for the 2018-19 season. Friend knows that his decision to join the Seahawks and the EHL was the right move, and he took some time to reflect.

"I am proud to announce my commitment to Anna Maria College," said Friend. "I would like to thank my friends, family, and coaches for helping me reach my dream of playing at the collegiate level. I would like to especially thank Coach Zaniboni for pushing me and making me into not only a better player, but a better person. I would like to thank all the Seahawks staff and teammates; I couldn't have wished for a better place to end my junior career."
