HYANNIS, MA -- Tim Atkins, a forward for the Total Athletics Seahawks, has committed to Becker College for the Fall of 2018. The '97 is in his first season with the Seahawks, and second season in the EHL. Through 36 games so far this year, Atkins has racked up 11 goals and 14 assists (25 points).
"Tim has come into our program and done a nice job, he has fun and competes extremely hard," said Seahawks head coach and general manager Bill Zaniboni. "As a western Mass kid, Becker is a nice option to have and I felt it was a good fit for Tim academically and athletically."
Atkins is 1 of 3 EHL players that have committed to Becker College so far this season, and that group includes Quinn Robelle (New York Applecore) who actually joined the Hawks for the 2nd half of this year. Dale Adams is an Assistant Coach for the Hawks, and a big recruiter of the EHL. He took some time to talk about Atkins, and his future in college hockey.
"We're very excited that Tim has chosen Becker College to continue his hockey career as a student athlete," said Adams. "Coach Zaniboni does an excellent job preparing his players for the next level, so we're certainly looking forward to adding a well-rounded player like Tim to our offensive group next season."
Last, but not least, Atkins took some time to reflect on his journey to this point and thank all of those that have all helped him along the way.
"I am proud to announce my commitment to play hockey for Becker College," said Atkins. "I would line to thank my family for supporting and pushing me in any way they could. Secondly I would like to thank every coach throughout my hockey career for coaching me into the hockey player I am today. Also a big thanks to anyone that has encouraged me to follow my passion for hockey. I look forward to being a student athlete at Becker College for the next four years."
