7 EHL Commits from the 2016-17 Season

WILKES-BARRE, PA -- This Fall, the King's College Monarchs will be launching their program in the newly formed United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC). The conference is set to include ten men's and women's teams from Chatham University (PA), Elmira College (NY), Hobart and William Smith Colleges (NY), King's College (PA), Lebanon Valley College (PA), Manhattanville College (NY), Neumann University (PA), Stevenson University (MD), and Utica College (NY). The conference also includes Nazareth College's (NY) men's team and will welcome Wilkes University (PA) men's and women's teams in 2018-19.

When the year begins for King's College on October 27th, their roster will include 7 EHL alumni whom made their commitments during the 2016-17 season.

Michael Cosentino (Connecticut RoughRiders)
Mitchell Foster (Connecticut RoughRiders)
Thomas Green (Connecticut RoughRiders)
Eric Menninger (East Coast Wizards)
Zack Goodman (New York Applecore)
Jack O'Neil (Philadelphia Jr. Flyers)
Orion Linnehan (Walpole Express)

It didn't take long for Monarch's coach Stephen Mallaro to build a strong rapport with the EHL coaches. The former Oswego State Laker has a big task ahead of him in launching a new program, but he feels confident in the group that he's bringing in. The confidence is built firmly off of Mallaro's trust in the EHL process.

“The Eastern Hockey League is an easy sell for King’s College," said Mallaro. "Each player represents the league’s character both on and off the ice. Putting development first is key to helping players move on to the next level; the EHL is a perfect example of this. King’s College will continue to support and pursue college ready players out of the Eastern Hockey League.”

Be sure to check back in again next week for a new EHL Pipeline of the Week.
